St Bernards Catholic

Welcome from the School Principal

Welcome to St Bernard's Catholic Primary School. My name is Mr Richard Jordan, I am delighted to be the school principal of St Bernard's. Our school, the community and the parish is one that I have got to understand, know and love.

At St. Bernard’s we are a family. With Christ at the centre, our children follow in the footsteps of Jesus. This notion enlivens our children to the importance of being good people: full of kindness, respect, empathy and driven to make the most of their time at school and develop their God-given talents.

The family statement is genuine and permeates through our school. Whilst building relationships, our staff care for the children as though they are their own. By keeping the children safe and happy, it paves the way for great learning and the highest quality of education for our children.

Our children are ready to learn; embrace challenges; smile as they enter and leave the school and treat one another with kindness and respect. Every child is special and they must be respected as special, unique beings who are entitled to be educated so their needs are met and so they can reach and exceed potential.

The aim of the curriculum at St. Bernard’s is for children to develop their spiritual selves, to inspire inquiry and curiosity, and provide the cultural capital that enriches the whole child and enables positive futures. Our vision for our children is for them to be appreciative, honest, empathetic, compassionate, resilient, ambitious and to embrace challenges.

We have the opportunity to shape lives, make memories and bring development and happiness to our children. We ask in return for parental support and trust; and from our children a willingness to meet our expectations around behaviour and effort.

Within our website, you will find further information about our school, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions. Please see the newsletter section to get a real flavour of the school.

Warm regards,

Mr Richard Jordan
